The America I believe in has bravery, peace, and family. When I think of bravery I think of my grandpa who was a pilot in the Air Force. He brought peace to other parts of the world as well as America. He made it possible to keep my family safe.
When I think of America I think of bravery. Bravery is the loyalty of our military. Since the 1700’s our military has bravely fought for us. Starting with the patriots and up through Afghanistan our military has kept us safe. On 9/11 the police and firemen were brave enough to save all the people in the Twin Towers. Bravery is demonstrated when people or citizens speak up for themselves stating their opinions. Bravery kept us safe over the years. When I think of freedom I think of freedom of expression with art, music, dance, and speech. Our freedom ends when one person hurts the other with words or thoughts. We can have our own choice of jobs and education. In our America people can express themselves with how they dress. The America I believe is at peace. Our country is not in war because we want peace throughout the world. A peaceful nation has equality for all races. We all want peace in homes too because some sons and daughters argue with their parents. The last thing in America I believe in is family. Family is history, knowing your family’s history helps to know traditions and customs. All families should have happiness and laughter, this is possible in my America. What do you think of America? When I think of America I think of bravery, peace, and family. It is a land of understanding, laughter, and promise. Not all people have the same opinion about “The America That I Believe In.”

Trust is important because if we don’t have trust then there is no life. We need trust to survive. We can make America great with friendly and nice people. None of this can happen without trust.
We should respect elders. The world we live in today might not be perfect, but we have the power to change it. The America I believe in has liberty, hope, humility, and unity. People pay prices for these things.
Liberty is required for a nation, without liberty we would have a corrupt country. Liberty represents the fact that America provides freedom to the people. America is a symbol of life, flourishment, and independence. People change the world with liberty every day. Military spouses and children stay diligent, and hopeful even when someone they love is in the lines of fire for over a year. Picture yourself at home while your dad is millions of miles away securing your freedom. He is special to you. He has been there for you. He is changing the world for you, and you can remain hopeful that he will come back. Now when I imagine the sound of freedom, I imagine the sound of Apache blades chopping as they fly overhead. The America I believe in has hope. We are bound as a nation with humility. Humility is the quality or state of being humble. The America I believe in has humility and kindness. If for one day everyone had humility the America we live in would change. Some people are afraid of change, but change is the order of life, if nothing ever changed we probably would not be in America because change brought us here. The America I believe in is open to change. The America I believe in pays a price for unity because we have to help defend our allies. During World War II we united with Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, and many more. This united force won World War II together and changed the world. “My dreams were all my own; I accounted for them to nobody. They were my refuge when annoyed-my dearest pleasure when free,” Mary Shelley. We are free to have dreams, Liberty, Humility, Hope, and Unity. The America I Believe in Dreams to Change the World! When I imagine America, I see a flag billowing in the wind, the stripes and stars majestic in the air. I see soldiers and people together, saying the “Pledge of Allegiance,” unified. I see loyalty, love, peace, family, friends, and allies.
In the United States, many situations have been solved, but one still remains, the gaps. Throughout American history there has been so many racial and gender gaps; such as slavery and money. All people need to give everyone a chance even if they are different genders, or different races. Discrimination needs to end, in my America, no one is discriminated against. I believe in an America where there are no homeless veterans. Throughout the country our soldiers come home and find that they no longer have a home. They resort to living in the street or shelters. The human beings who fought for your life, who saved your home from guns, and bombs are not always being given the respect they deserve. The least we could do for them is welcome them home warmly. Our nation should and can create a life for the people that have saved our lives. I create in my mind an America I can believe in, one where all people are free, where patriotism is favored. Where I can be me. Where you can be you. There would not be any war, there would be peace across the county, no suicides, or shootings, one where you can protect yourself, but not be considered dangerous. I want an America where I can be president, where all races, all genders, all ages, can be anything. “One flag, one land, one hear, one hand, one nation, evermore!” this inspiring quote was written by Oliver Wendell Holmes. I imagine the country coming together after conflict, and coming home to a warm and welcome family. I can imagine parades in honor of the soldiers, parties with the president, as each troop comes home from a long war. I can imagine a birthplace where there are no threats. I feel thankful, that I can have education, food, shelter, water, a safe home to go to. I can see a memorial in each state showing those who have died for us. This is what I imagine in a perfect America. America . . . land of freedom, love, creativity, peace, and loyalty. These are things that make the United States a wonderful place to live. This America that I believe in provides us with freedom, respect, and justice. Peace is part of The America I Believe In. The only way to make America better is creativity.
Freedom . . . what do you think of freedom? I think of respect and justice coming together to join our nation. Respect is to consider worthy of high regard but, we also need justice. The quality of being just, impart, or fair is justice. Without justice, evil would run through the street and without freedom, the United States would be part of the United Kingdom. We need these to be one working nation. I think that the United States should have peace throughout the countries of the world. Peace is respect and love together, but America does not exactly stay peaceful. Sometimes America has to fight back instead of staying peaceful. America has allies, but I think we need more allies. So I think the United States should be more peaceful. Everywhere you turn you see art or creativity an idea of love and understanding. When I walk in a city, I see graffiti on the walls now, people say “Oh, what a waste of paint.” But what I see is someone trying to get noticed or trying to express their art and emotions. That is how a famous artist might have done it, start out with an idea and made it into an amazing piece of art. The America I Believe In has art around every corner in cities and countries. The America I Believe In has freedom, respect, love, creativity and peace. Just like the saying “One day at a time”. The United States cannot become greater if we do not become greater. America is lovely, beautiful, and special. Without America… what would we be? What is America? A country, one may answer; but no, America is much, much more. We are a nation of dreamers, of believers; of hopes and aspirations. And as an American citizen, I am one of those dreamers, those believers, and this is the America I believe in. A nation standing as one, honorable and free, our hearts singing in harmony.
America should be seen as a symbol, a symbol of hope, of equality, a phoenix rising from the ashes of an undiscovered world, sparking a flame that will enlighten our world. We are a country built on the shoulders of dreamers, an image of courage and protection. Other nations strive to be like us, standing together, powerful and serene. We do what is right and work to support our allies and our own people, at all times staying true to our beliefs and principles. As Americans, we should be proud of our history. We are a nation born of strong individuals and we must carry on our visions, not only respecting the sacrifices made by our ancestors, but making our own sacrifices for future generations, America is a country of innovators, constantly developing new technology and bettering our society, making history every day. As citizens of this country, we should create a future we will be proud of, and that our children will be proud of. War, segregation, depression, these are all tragedies that our country has survived, but we still stand strong. In other parts of the world, people are discriminated against due to their race, gender, beliefs; but in the America I believe in, anyone can be anything and differences are beautiful. No matter our outer appearances, our veins still pump the same blood, red as the stripes on our standard. In this America, we stand together to build a better country. We fight for our rights, of education, of speech, of self-expression. The right to vote, the right to be who we want to be. Our government encourages participation and expression in every aspect of life, our country is only as good as our people. Our amendments, our constitution, these are ways we were given the chance to make every beautiful dream a reality, no matter the dreamer. And together, we will build a staircase to the heavens and carry each other up to stand among the stars. So what is the America you believe in? “The moment you have protected the individual you have protected society”, said Kenneth Kanuda in 1924. What makes the America I believe in complete?
The answer is dedication, determination, discipline, and lack of discrimination. These have always and will always be the effects that has made American great. Over the past year discrimination towards black people has been terrible. In America, there has been several police shootings involving blacks and whites. Most of these shootings are because police see blacks as a danger more than they see white people as a danger. Picture this? A police officer goes through a neighborhood where mostly white people live and sees a group of black people, the officer might get suspicious because he ponders that they are up to something that they should not be doing. And the same goes for white people. As of June 2016, 95 million adults that live in the United States are unemployed. (Jones, 2016) Eleven out of fifty states have more unemployed people than they do employed people. In the past, there has been many successful people that made a difference in the job industry. These people have dedicated years of their life to going to college. I think that every American should have a good job with a great educational background. If you are going to have a good job that is going to last you your whole life, you must have good educational background. Good jobs do not come without education. No matter where you live or where you are someone will have to pay the price for freedom and keeping America safe. We should be thankful for those who sacrificed their life for our country and for us. This is why the veterans make such a difference in our country. Because whoever saves one person saves all of America. I believe that America has to have a disciplined military to protect people, and our natural resources. The America I believe in has a dedicated, determined, and a disciplined population. When I think of America, I think of our soldiers holding our flag high in the air after coming home from battle. America. When you hear that word, what do you see? I see a nation with independence, equality, and justice. I believe that we have always been a great nation, but must work to maintain it. This is the America I believe in.
America, a land of hope and freedom. A place to start over, for a new life. In the early 1600’s, the pilgrims came to America in hope of freedom from the English monarchy. Here, in the new land, they found what they were looking for. Then, in the 1700’s, that idea was finalized when Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. The men who signed it had a vision of freedom and hope to all people. They believed they could make a better world. This vision has been passed on from generation to generation. But, the true meaning has slowly been changed and lost. The vision that once was the livelihood of our nation has been altered to fit the ideas of different people, no longer what our founding fathers imagined. We, at the people, need to take a step-back. Independence: one that is not bound or definitively committed to a political party. That is one definition of the word independence. In 1776, 51 men came together to sign the United States Declaration of Independence, a legal document that stated Americans are free. To most people America is a beacon of hope. We as Americans are privileged and independent individuals that were given a chance for an amazing life, full of possibilities and potential. When a father or mother, or sister or brother goes off to war, what is the sacrifice that so many loved ones go through each day? The family members stay behind, waiting, and wondering whether or not that person will make it out alive. That sacrifice is such a great price, and, they do it for one main reason. Even when people risk their lives for people they don’t know, they do it for the America they believe in. America is a great and wondrous place, no matter what price was paid. When I hear the word America, I see an image of an honorable and free land. What is the price that so many people paid and who for? They paid it for a place they love. That is that America I believe in. America. When you hear that word, what do you see? I see a nation with independence, equality, and justice.
