The America I Believe In by Heika Olson

America . . .  land of freedom, love, creativity, peace, and loyalty. These are things that make the United States a wonderful place to live. This America that I believe in provides us with freedom, respect, and justice. Peace is part of The America I Believe In. The only way to make America better is creativity.

Freedom . . . what do you think of freedom? I think of respect and justice coming together to join our nation. Respect is to consider worthy of high regard but, we also need justice. The quality of being just, impart, or fair is justice. Without justice, evil would run through the street and without freedom, the United States would be part of the United Kingdom. We need these to be one working nation.

I think that the United States should have peace throughout the countries of the world. Peace is respect and love together, but America does not exactly stay peaceful. Sometimes America has to fight back instead of staying peaceful. America has allies, but I think we need more allies. So I think the United States should be more peaceful.

Everywhere you turn you see art or creativity an idea of love and understanding. When I walk in a city, I see graffiti on the walls now, people say “Oh, what a waste of paint.” But what I see is someone trying to get noticed or trying to express their art and emotions.  That is how a famous artist might have done it, start out with an idea and made it into an amazing piece of art. The America I Believe In has art around every corner in cities and countries.

The America I Believe In has freedom, respect, love, creativity and peace. Just like the saying “One day at a time”. The United States cannot become greater if we do not become greater. America is lovely, beautiful, and special. Without America… what would we be?
